DO the people of Marlborough want two mop fairs every year?
Now we are in the 21st century, isn't it now time for a change? For tradition's sake we could have one mop fair a year.
Having been shopkeepers in the High Street for 14 years,we know how badly trade is affected over these weekends, other local shopkeepers say how customers avoid Marlborough from Friday through to Sunday.
We read with worry in the Gazette that there are going to be extra festivities to celebrate a Centenary Mop.
The local council spends money making the High Street tidy after the Mops, but as shopkeepers we pay high rates, don't we have a say?
