HOW pleased we were to read your article regarding the survival of the Lavington Pre-School.

However there are one or two inaccuracies in your report which we feel should be corrected.

Imagine our distress, as those two members of staff, to discover that our resignation has been reported "to have plunged the pre-school into a crisis."

In fact both new members of staff were apppointed at the time of our leaving.

Unfortunately, Mrs Davey is ill-informed. The pre-school, has in fact survived in West Lavington for more than 20 years.

During that time there have been many occasions when the pre-school has survived low numbers.

Despite our very successful Ofsted reports we were still faced with the prospect of how to meet the new demands expected of us in shared accommodation.

We are sure that the many parents whose children have been in our care, will remember all the difficulties we faced.

Having approached various possibilities of new premises, we found ourselves disappointed many times.

After our long association with the pre-school, not only as staff but as parents, committee memebers and fundraisers there was a great deal of heart-searching that lead to our resignation.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported us and wish everyone at the pre-school good luck for their future.
