Youth football
CHIPPENHAM Town over-ran a gallant Crescent Park side, scoring 9 goals without reply in their game in the under 11s division of the Wiltshire Times and News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League.
On the mark for the winners were Joseph White (4), Tom Needham (2), Sam Morrissey (2) and Liam Brown.
Devizes Town played hosts to Trowbridge Town and shared the points and the goals in a six goal thriller. Edward Morrell, Aaron Rowles and Harry Williams scored for the home side, with Matthew Francis (2) and Chris Giles replying for the visitors.
It was one-way traffic at FC Chippenham, where Shaw and Whitley B were swamped 12-2. Emery Garrett, Will Fisher (2), Craig Fisher, James Hofstad, Jordan Coulter, Elliott Simpson (2) and Edward Tunnicliffe (4) scored for the hosts.
Goals Chris Smith (3), Andrew Donald (2), Sam Paines and Daniel Lovett, aided by two own goals, secured a 9-0 away win for Melksham Park at Corsham Boys.
Frome Collegians won an entertaining game against Castle Combe Colts 8-2, with Ryan Child scoring five of the goals. Thomas Dignan (2) and Luke Damaria scored the other Collegian goals, with Glenn Stutt and Charlie Riley scoring for Castle Combe.
Under 12s
WESTBURY Youth found themselves 1-0 down at half-time against FC Chippenham, but the dressing room team talk worked wonders as they scored seven without reply after the break.
Matty Smith led the way, scoring five of the goals, with the others coming from Nathan Hallett and Lee Meaden.
Chippenham Town Rangers and Trowbridge Wanderers shared the points and goals in a 2-2 draw, which saw goals from Chris Wicks and William Symons for the hosts and Nick Holton and Craig Ashworth for the visitors.
Devizes travelled to Corsham Boys and won by the odd goal in three. Ross Lye scored for the hosts and Daniel Sloan scored in an even first half, with the second half winner coming from Pat Preece.
Warminster Highbury were 5-0 up at half-time against Castle Combe and they eventually won 9-1. Dan Croker started the scoring, with Matt Palfreman (4), Ashley Caws and Scott Laird also getting on the score sheet. James Stone replied.
Under 13s
WESTINGHOUSE B hosted Westbury Youth and succumbed 7-1, with Nathan Quarrell getting their consolation goal after strikes from Matty Cooper (3), his third hat-trick in three games, James Rygor (2), Rob Taylor and the goal of the season from Scott Howse.
Their A team won convincingly at Melksham Park by 9-0, where twin strikers Mars Dolman and Luke Holbrow both scored four times and Guy Trainer finished off the scoring.
In a keenly contested match at Marlborough, Ryan Keeley gave the home side an early lead, meeting Roger Hill's corner with a looping header. There were chances at both ends before Ben Crame put Marlborough 2-0 up with a fierce shot on the run and Will Bryant sent him clear to score his second.
Both goalkeepers were in impressive form, but Crame went on to score twice more before Devizes replied from the penalty spot.
Brunel Boys continued their impressive start to the season with a 3-0 home win against Calne Colts, with goals from Luke Hambridge and Adam Legg (2).
Mike Maguire's hat-trick was not enough to give Castle Combe Colts all three points against Warminster Highbury as the visitors scored three goals themselves and shared the points in an entertaining game.
Charlie Moss (3), James Ponsford (2), Mikki Harrison, Tom Robinson and James Oliver scored the goals as Shaw and Whitley won 8-0 at Corsham Boys.
Under 14s Blue Division
TROWBRIDGE Wanderers were calm and collected at the back despite a tremendous push forward by visitors Westbury Youth in what was a fairly even game, but with Wanderers having the edge all the way through.
Wanderers extended their lead to 3-0 in the second half, with Westbury getting onto the score sheet with an own goal to finish the game at 3-1. Daniel Oliver (2) and Michael Jenkins scored for Wanderers, moving them up to lead the division.
Under 14s Red Division
CORSHAM Boys were strolling with a 3-0 lead at the break against visitors Pewsey Vale, but all the chances fell Pewsey's way in the second half.
Corsham continued to push forward, but were denied by the bar on several occasions and by some superb saves by the Pewsey goalkeeper.
Corsham gave the game away with two own goals and with a third from Pewsey the game finished all square at 3-3. Warren Jones scored a first half hat-trick for Corsham.
Frome Collegians shared the points with visitors Melksham Park in an end-to-end game where Frome took the lead twice only to finish level at 2-2. Adam Smith scored both goals for Frome.
Under 15s Blue Division
THE match between Corsham Boys and Devizes Town Youth started quite evenly, with both sides having their share of chances.
Corsham began to dominate and went in front after a mazy run and good finish by Liam Ralph. Soon after Corsham went 2-0 up with a well finished goal from Scott Lye. The second half was scrappy and Corsham clinched the win with two more goals, from Daniel Wells and Ben Wilmot, to finish 4-0 victors.
Trowbridge Town Youth took the lead away twice from visitors FC Chippenham in the first half to go in level at 2-2. Trowbridge changed their emphasis from one of defence to attack in the second half and the change paid off with two more goals to give them the game at 4-2. Trowbridge's goals came from Luke Turvey, Lee Anteny, Adam Philips and an own goal, with Jamie Mullins and Daniel Stonham both scoring from outside the box for Chippenham.
Warminster Dynamos closed the gap on leaders Croft Juniors, running out 4-1 home victors against Lavington Boys. Craig Lewis (3) and Jason Greatley scored the goals.
Ashley Isaac scored four goals for home side Bath Arsenal in their 5-0 win against South Newton and Wishford, with Quinton Paterson scoring the other goal.
Under 15s Red Division
BROUGHTON Gifford caught home side Calne Colts sleeping with a goal within the first minute from Bob Mitchell.
Calne gathered their composure and took the game to the visitors and after numerous attacks and most of the possession they pulled level with a superb 25-yard chip by James Gorman. Richard Johnson put the home team in front just before half time.
The second half saw Broughton camped in there own half with very little possession and any counter attacks were swiftly dealt with by the home side's defence.
Gorman and Scott Moriarty scored for Calne within ten minutes of the re-start and only the desperate defending and five outstanding saves by Fran Harvey, the Broughton Gifford goalkeeper, kept the score line to a respectable level finish at 4-1 to Calne.
Amesbury Juniors and FC Chippenham 2nds looked to be heading towards sharing the points with both sides a goal a piece until Chippenham took the lead with just ten minutes to play to finish 2-1 winners. Ryan Davis scored for Amesbury.
Leaders Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds were at home to Pewsey Vale and took the lead through Sammi Bakali. Early in the second half James Thompson brought the game level before James Nodwell gave the home side the lead once more. Guy Rowley sealed the victory for Trowbridge ten minutes from the end to finish the game at 3-1.
Under 17s Red Division
MARLBOROUGH took the lead against Aldbourne Juniors when the goalkeeper dropped the ball only for Tom Payne to tap in.
Mid-way through the second half Philip Maw doubled their lead before Aldbourne got on the score sheet through Liam Hector. Marlborough held on to their lead despite a frantic last ten minutes to finish 2-1 victors, which keeps them leading the pack with maximum points from their five games so far.
