Ilfracombe Town 1,

Corsham Town 1

CORSHAM player-manager Rob Humphreys was disappointed after his team came away from North Devon with only point.

"That's the third time in recent games when we have drawn games we really should have won," said Humphreys.

"It's the same old combination of failing to take our own chances and then losing concentration in defence to allow our opponents into score."

In an entertaining end-to-end confrontation, in which either side could have snatched a winner, Ilfracombe had the slight edge in the opening half, but lacked the final touch to take advantage of three clear chances.

David Kilmurray broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, converting a fine cross from Simon Bray to record Corsham's 100th goal since joining the Screwfix Direct League.

In the 74th minute, Simon Adams' teasing cross beat the Corsham defence, allowing Ilfracombe a deserved equaliser, with Kevin Pickard heading home at the far post.

Westbury United 1,

Welton Rovers 2

THESE two evenly matched sides produced some entertaining football.

After three minutes Welton's Nick Wilson had a goal ruled out for offside.

Welton were ahead in first-half stoppage time when Dean Ranger headed past his own keeper and increased the lead with 10 minutes remaining when substitute James Billing rounded Westbury goalkeeper Mark Batters. Westbury's consolation goal came in stoppage time through Wayne Wheeler.

Melksham Town 3, Eastleigh 0

MELKSHAM coasted into the second round proper of the FA Carlsberg Vase after scoring three goals in the first 12 minutes.

After eight minutes, a fine through ball found Matthew Messenger, who fired past keeper Adam Gage.

They went further ahead when Gage's punched clearance was volleyed home by skipper Steve Seals.

They increased their lead after 54 minutes, when a magnificent cross from Matty Bown was headed home by Matty Messenger at the far post.

Eastleigh tried to get back into the game, but the home defence, well marshalled by Jeremy Christopher, remained intact.

Calne Town 0, Clyst Rovers 2

IN this First Division midtable battle, Calne found themselves up against a very tough-to-breakdown Clyst Rovers outfit, and in the end it was the Devon side who took their chances and returned home with all three points thanks to the clinical finishing of Rob McGahey.

Just prior to half-time Clyst took the lead, McGahey capitalising on a defensive slip to shoot the Devonians ahead and just after half-time, straight from the kick off, the same player drove home powerfully from outside the box as Calne digested the half-time cups of tea.

Calne gained a point on Tuesday night with a goal-less home draw with Bitton

Pewsey Vale 0, Keynsham Town 4

SWINDON Town legend Don Rogers was unable to halt Pewsey Vale's losing run as his new side went down to a heavy home defeat against the Screwfix Direct League First Division leaders.

But despite the club's precarious position at the foot of the table, relegation is not even an issue for the former Town winger.

Rogers told supporters: "Don't worry about that match.

"It's just a matter of time before we get going. Then watch us go next season."
