NO LONGER is it possible to have enjoyable walks on the open space behind the Westbury White Horse with children or well-mannered dogs.
It is disgustingly filthy and dangerous for all bar the inconsiderate, dirty dog owners and car thieves, and none of the services appear to do anything about it.
What is it that makes owners of predominantly larger size dogs consider themselves above the law in not picking up after their animals and allowing same dogs to run out of control, terrorising, attacking and damaging smaller or timid dogs.
The usual "Oh, they won't hurt" only shows how ignorant these people are. A collie, well-muscled boxer, German shepherd and like-size animals can do a lot of damage to smaller, lighter-boned animals. I know, I have a permanently damaged dog, injured in this manner. After my pup was chased on Monday week by an undisciplined and completely uncontrolled boxer over and over again, I now have a dog which is too frightened to get out of the car for a run.
My dogs are PAT (Pets as Therapy) dogs who visit hospitals and residential homes and are obedience competitors having won over 500 rosettes and it is going to take a long time to get my puppy to accept larger dogs and be able to concentrate.
