A Swindon leisure centre has had to cancel a show featuring Terry Waite CBE due to poor ticket sales.
The former Archbishop of Canterbury's envoy was due to appear at the Oasis Leisure Centre, North Star, on Saturday, November 11.
Steve Skull from the Oasis said: "Regretfully due to the poor response we have had to pull the show.''
The leisure centre's capacity is 1,600 and nowhere near that many tickets were sold.
Anyone who bought a ticket will get a full refund by telephoning the centre's main box office number (01793) 445401.
The event An Evening With Terry Waite was due to feature tales of his interesting life.
Terry Waite first came to notice in Uganda under the Idi Amin regime as advisor to the first African Archbishop.
He was thrown into the limelight with his negotiations over the plight of hostages in Tehran and Libya.
And he was then taken captive himself for 1,763 days. He was in solitary confinement for four years.
