A children's club will be a blessing for Swindon mums and dads leading up to Christmas.
The Oasis Leisure Centre is playing host to Captain Capers Christ-mas Kids' Club starting on Saturday, November 18, and initially only at weekends.
The centre held a special half-term event to publicise the club.
"We have held these clubs in the past on similar lines and they have been very successful," said Steve Skull from the Oasis.
"It is a service for parents who want to buy Christmas presents and keep them in the boot of the car while little Johnny is happily playing," he said.
Captain Capers is for children aged between five and 10 and costs £4, (gold card rates apply).
The youngsters will play games and take part in arts and crafts, and they will get a light snack during the three hour club, which runs from 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm.
"There are three hours' free parking and the Oasis is an ideal location close to the town centre or the Designer Outlet Village," said Steve.
Captain Capers introduces the young ones to the soft play area at the Oasis, which is part of the Swindon Contrac-tors Recreation Series Group, and also to the other activities and sports that are available at the centre.
It is a registered playgroup with the social services.
Spaces are limited so telephone 01793 445401 to book.
