All night toilets in the centre of Swindon were given a grand opening by the town's mayor.
Coun Arthur Archer (Lab, Gorse Hill) declared the urinals officially open and cut a ceremonious piece of loo roll, which had been hung across the door of the new toilets.
Coun John Taylor (Lab, Central), who also turned up for the big opening, said he was pleased to be at the opening of what he referred to as "Swindon's newest comfort zone"
The council has spent a little more than a penny on the refurbishment of the toilets, with a fully-fitted baby changing area, a 24-hour toilet and facilities for disabled people, costing a total of £25,000.
But, Coun Archer said it would be worth every penny spent, as it provides an extra facility for the people of Swindon, from parents with their babies and all-night revellers.
The toilets, situated at the end of the Brunel shopping centre, at the Market Street end, are one of a number of improvements set for Swindon.
Geoff Lewis, assistant chief officer for Swindon Contractors, said: "This is the first of a number of toilet refurbishments that will take place around the town.
"Every effort is being made to ensure the new toilets are as customer friendly as possible."
