Children shopping with their mums at Tesco had the chance to discover that eggs, milk and other farm-produced foods don't come from factories.
Lambs, goats, pigs, a hen and rabbits from Roves Farm at Sevenhampton occupied spaces in the Swindon superstore's car park as part of a countryside awareness promotion.
"We also wanted to let people know that our farm centre has been open to visitors throughout half-term and will open again on March 17 when we are due to start lambing,'' said farmer Rupert Burr.
"Unfortunately so many people are now remote from farming. Anything we can do to educate children about the countryside has got to be good.
"We have been very busy with school groups at Roves Visitors' Centre during the summer, and we are now working hard on our own show which will be taken around schools during the winter.''
Tesco store manager Mario Roncaglia said: "There has been tremendous interest from children visiting the store.''
Mr Burr's staff and the animals have also visited Swindon town centre and the Great Western Designer Outlet Village.
