May I take the opportunity to thank the Adver and Ben Fitzgerald in particular for the write up on Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) on Tuesday.
However, one aspect needs correction the special optical aids cannot be commissioned from opticians. The design is protected by registered patents and the glasses are only available to AS sufferers through the offices of the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society.
Locally and nationally AS receives considerable support from the NHS through its physiotherapists and consultants. NASS works closely with these people and I trust this publicity will encourage sufferers to come forward and join the exercise group.
