When will Swindon councillors realise that their buses-only policy is costing the town dear in terms of lost revenue?
By their own admission the bus operators are unable to provide park and ride for the Christmas period. Very many people will avoid the stress of road traffic congestion by going elsewhere for their Christmas shopping.
Before Dr Beeching decimated the local train links in the 1960's thousands of visitors from local towns and villages could travel into Swindon by train.
The fact that not a single station has been restored is an indictment of both Swindon Borough and Wiltshire County councils. The people are still denied a choice of transport.
