DEVIZES did themselves no harm in this FA Cup game on Saturday, October 28. Played at times in very blustery, rainy, conditions, the Town did not seem to be overawed and should not feel ashamed of the scoreline.

Kingstonian went into the lead, 2 - 0 up, before Devizes got one back and for a while it seemed that they would draw level. Kingstonian added a third before Devizes scored the best goal of the match, a piledriver from well outside the penalty area.

The turning point came, however, when Kingstonian scored their fourth goal after a mistake on the right hand side of play, bringing the score up to 4 - 2.

The fight seemed to go out of the Town then and Kingstonian scored their fifth goal late on.

The Referee awarded a penalty five minutes from time and, using no discretion at all, in view of the time remaining, showed the red card to the Devizes defender instead of a yellow.

It had been a fairly clean game with few bookings or bad behaviour game played under lousy conditions but non-the-less enjoyable.
