A SERIES of friendly fixtures took place as a curtain-raiser to the Leisure Leagues five-a-side league at Parks Sports and Youth Centre, Swindon, on Sunday. The actual league starts next Sunday.
It was West Swindon who started their season in style with an 11-1 win over Southside FC. Southside looked out of shape at the back as West Swindon capitalised on some poor defending.
Allstars grabbed their first win of the new season with an 11-2 win over Your Round Rovers. Allstars found it easy against a Rovers side that lacked imagination.
GK Stone came through their tie with Kwik Shift Athletic to win 10-3.
The Muppets grabbed the same score line over Lazy FC.
Jimmy's 5's have their goalkeeper to thank as they kept a fine clear sheet in an 8-0 win over Inter.
Penhill completed an 8-3 win over The NSAS in what turned out to be the closest tie of the afternoon.
STD FC grabbed a 5-0 win against M Shannon.
