A shopping centre in Swindon has ensured the music will play on after it stepped in to rescue a charity's annual musicathon.

The Designer Outlet Village at Rodbourne stepped in after the Stroke Association's 2nd annual Musicathon was left without a venue.

And now the charity is appealing for musicians of all ages to join in and entertain shoppers in the day-long event, and help raise funds at the same time.

Lisa Boyce, the association's Wiltshire fundraiser, said: "We already have some entertainers signed up from a dance routine to a jazz band and anyone who can sing or play is welcome.

"The event lasts from 10am until 6pm so we need as many performers as we can to fill the whole day with music."

Participants can ask friends and family to sponsor them for the event.

The event will be of direct benefit for stroke patients in Swindon, who depend on their Dysphasia Support Service.

It takes place on November 25, and if you want to join in the fun you can contact Lisa Boyce on 0117 953 1200 for sponsorship forms and an entry pack.
