Two young Swindon chess players have achieved a top ten place in the annual chess grading list just published by the British Chess Federation.
The town's youngest international Daniel Hall, 10, of Old Town, is graded eighth among the country's under 11s.
Nine-year-old Shivani Jobanputra, from Lawn, is the 10th highest graded under 10.
Two places below her comes another Wilts-hire nine-year-old Alex Cooper, from Erlestoke, near Devizes.
Jenny Chase, 17, from Salisbury, has maintained her 13th place in the junior girls' top 20.
In the senior top hundred, only two Wiltshire players feature this year, half last year's total.
Former Churchfields and New College students Charles and James Cobb are in 72nd and 77th place respectively but the brothers both now live out of the county.
