IT was a very poor time for fishing on our rivers last weekend with many matches having to be called off with so much water entering the ditches and consequently emptying into rivers.
Those that were fished resulted in small weights, with Mick Greening winning the Rover Coleview event at Upper Rushy with a 2lb chub and some bits for just 2-6-0.
Trevor Wyse was second but had the consolation of winning the 'Perch Cup' with a 2-4-8 weight which included perch and bits. Third was Neil Haydon with 2-3-0.
It was the still waters which attracted most people last weekend and Andy Bright really got the method feeder working in the Cloverleaf match held at Lakeside near Devizes.
Andy took a tremendous 118lb 15oz catch of carp, beating Ricky Spiteri 81-1-0 and Cliff Brown 36-8-0.
Wick Water fished extremely hard for the Wednesday Veterans match where Graham Rose easily won taking 12lb on the feeder but beat Len Simpson's 7-2-0 and Fred Brown's 5lb.
