The long-awaited public viewing of detailed plans for Wootton Bassett School's new premises has received a good response at the school.
The exhibition attracted governors, staff, parents, pupils and residents and there were even samples of proposed classroom furniture.
"I am very relieved that we have got to this stage after quite a few changes from the original scheme," said head teacher Hylton Thomas.
Mr Thomas was joined by Wiltshire County Councillor Mollie Groom and architect Jim Mitchison to answer visitors' questions on many aspects of the project, scheduled for completion early in 2002.
The layout incorporates a central covered mall, from which all subject areas will be readily accessible, and full disabled facilities.
