SWINDON COLLEGE OB 39, OXFORD 6: College won this local derby with some good rugby in poor conditions.

They took Oxford on from the start and only last-gasp tackling stopped College taking an early lead.

After 20 minutes College went ahead with a penalty from Sean Millwaters. This was followed immediately by another penalty, again kicked by Millwaters.

College then breached the Oxford line after good work by flanker John Godsell the ball was released to the backs who sent in winger Ian Thompson to score. Millwaters converted.

College then scored an excellant try when from his own half Neil White broke clear and sent Tony Flower in to score.On the stroke of half time the ball was again thrown out wide and Greig Evenett was on hand to score. Millwaters converted for College to lead 25-0 at half time.

College were now into the wind and Oxford started the stronger using the elements to their advantage.Within 10 minutes Oxford had scored a penalty and were halted just short of the line.

College woke up and from a scrum Brown took the ball against the head and No 8 Ben Green scored a pushover try, Millwaters again converting.

Oxford scored a second penalty, but College wrapped things up with a fine individual try by Mark Williams. Millwaters added the conversion to round off a good day for College.
