HIGHWORTH drama teacher John Williams appeared on television screens on Tuesday in the acclaimed BBC drama The Sins.
Mr Williams, who teaches at Swindon's Churchfields School and runs drama workshops, was given the part of a vicar running behind a coffin in Willesden cemetery.
The 58-year-old was one of 20 extras cast for the series, shown on BBC1 at 9.10pm. The series follows the fortunes of an ex-con who is attempting to go straight.
"It was great fun," he said. "I met quite a few of the actors, including Pete Postlethwaite, but I must admit he seemed a bit remote."
Mr Williams is no stranger to television. He used to have a part in the Welsh soap opera Pobol Y Cym and appeared in BBC's The Carer a few weeks ago.
An American television company recently cast him in the main role for a short film called The Miracle, which was not broadcast over here but clips were shown on Oprah Winfrey's chat show which was.
On November 24, he is presenting an charity evening of drama involving young people and adults, at The Recreation Centre in Highworth.
Tickets cost £5 including cheese and wine and can be bought on (01793) 764431.
