A HELLISH band of vampires, witches and ghouls has been spotted in the Railway Village.
Youngsters at Central Playgroup dressed up to celebrate Halloween and raise funds.
The children enjoyed a variety of traditional Hallo-ween activities, such as apple bobbing.
There was also a large bowl of unpleasant green gunge which the children were invited to put their hands into.
One youngster bucked the ghoulish trend by dressing up as a pumpkin to celebrate the occasion.
The playgroup, based in the Central Community Centre, has been established for 20 years.
Jo Sully, chairman of the playgroup committee, said: "The children had a lot of fun with the Halloween theme. We provide learning through fun.
"The children are learning although they probably don't realise it," she said.
Painting, drawing, singing and dancing are just some of the activities enjoyed by the youngsters.
Although the group is popular with both children and their parents alike, the question of funding arises frequently.
Events such as the Halloween party boost the funds brought in by playgroup fees.
Mrs Sully said: "This is a such a friendly playgroup, very welcoming.
"The children are happy, after all, they are the consumers."
The Halloween fundraiser was organised to boost funds at a time when funds are traditionally tight for playgroups.
