DESPITE atrocious weather conditions most games in the Wiltshire Times and News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League were played at the weekend just hours ahead of the worst storm in ten years.
In the under 15s Division Calne Colts battened down the hatches and went on all out attack against visitors Trowbridge FC and finished 9-0 winners. D Herring (3), James Gorman (4), Tom Last and Scott Moriarty scored for Calne.
Pewsey Vale came from behind twice, with goals from Ashley Amor, Danny Burton, James Thompson (2) and Chris Bauer (2), to beat visitors Warminster Highbury Youth 6-2 and secure their first win.
Under 15s Blue Division
BATH Arsenal were struggling against home side FC Chippenham in the first half feeling as though they were playing against 12 men when someone did a quick head count and realised that they were.
The situation was rectified and the game continued. Bath took the points with a late goal finishing 1-0 and closing the gap to just two points at the top of the table.
Leaders Croft, unbeaten so far, continue to dominate this group with an outstanding win against home side Lavington Boys. Croft went 1-0 up early in the game then in the last ten minutes of the first half bombarded the
Lavington goal to go in with a 4-0 lead. It was one-way traffic in the second half with a further five for the visitors seeing them finish 9-0 winners.
Second place on goal difference, Warminster Dynamos took a 3-1 lead into the second half against visitors Corsham Boys. Both sides battled on in the second half under very wet and slippery conditions with Dynamos finishing 7-3 victors.
Under 17s Blue Division
MALMESBURY Youth won their second game on the bounce in a top of the table clash moving them to within a point of the leaders Devizes.
Malmesbury won 5-0, with goals from James Constable (2), Byron Alley (2) and Ryan Landers scored for Malmesbury.
Under 17s Red Division
HOME side Croft Juniors gave a tremendous team performance against fellow Swindonians and second in the table Aldbourne Juniors.
Croft made the most of their chances in the first half going in 2-0 up at the break. The second half evened out with both sides scoring just one-a-piece for Croft to finish 3-1 winners.
James McCarthy (2) and Chris Hawkins scored for Croft.
Under 14s Blue Division
LEADERS Trowbridge Wanderers were at home to FC Chippenham and were trailing by 1-0 a the break.
Chippenham, unbeaten this season, upped the pace in the second half turning the game into a complete rout to finish 9-1 winners.
A Gainey (3), J Lyons (2), A Merryweather (2), K Beasley and M Compton scored for Chippenham with Lee Griffin replying for Wanderers. The three points move FC Chippenham to the top of the table.
Under 14s Red Division
LIAM Worsley (2), Peter Hazlehurst and Goncalo Barata all scored goals for the first time for their club Chippenham Town Youth in their home game against Pewsey Vale.
Pewsey had taken the lead early in the first half, but Chippenham were ahead at 2-1 by the break. Two more decisive goals were scored in the second half for Chippenham to finish 4-1 winners.
Warminster Highbury notched up their first three points of the season, running out 1-0 home victors against Frome Collegians.
Under 10s
SHAW and Whitley overcame a gallant Corsham United side with a 5-1 win, which saw goals from Danny Harrison (2), Nick Callaghan (2) and Ethan Cox.
Trowbridge Town and Bradford on Avon played a double header with their A teams meeting before their B teams took centre stage.
In the A team match the visitors got the better of proceedings with a 3-1 win, thanks to goals from Dan Jones (2) and Dan Sandford, with Joe Kirkpatrick replying.
The B team result went the opposite way, with Trowbridge finally winning 5-2. James Batstone scored three times, but unfortunately only two counted for his side.
Under 11s
WARMINSTER Highbury scored seven goals without reply against Devizes Town, with Les Sparey and Charlie Harris both scoring hat-tricks. The final goal came from Jake Noble.
There were goals galore at Melksham Park as they produced an 11 goal feast with opponents Bradford on Avon before finally grabbing a 6-5 win. Home goals came from Ross Menghini (3), Sam Paines, James Glanville and Chris Smith, with the visitors replying through Jack Smith, Liam Richards (2) and Lewis Meillam (2).
FC Chippenham completed the double over Westbury Youth with a 4-1 victory at home. Will Fisher, James Hofstad, Elliott Simpson and an own goal made up their tally, with Tom Whyte scoring the Westbury consolation goal.
Under 12s
DANNY Barnett, with a hat-trick, led Melksham Park on their way to an 8-2 win over Corsham Boys.
Matty Humphries and Danny Kovacs both scored twice, with Danny Waylen completing the scoring and Ross Lye getting both for a gallant Corsham side.
Ross Crichton gave Calne Town the lead against Devizes, but saw his effort to no avail as the visitors scored five times through Chris Allen (2), Daniel Sloan (2) and Craig Campbell.
Under 13s
TROWBRIDGE Town continued their charge for honours with an emphatic 7-0 win over a game Melksham Park side.
Jamie Young led the way with a hat-trick followed by Theodore Sclassie with a brace. Lee Burke and Piyaphong Khaekphong completed the scoring.
A resurgent Westbury Youth side entertained Brunel Boys and despite losing 4-1 came out of the game with plenty of plusses. Debutant Paul Yoemans scored the home goal in an impressive first game for the club, as did his twin brother David.
Hilperton United, after two seasons of trying, finally secured all three points in a single game when they beat Westinghouse Youth B 5-2 in Chippenham.
Paul Robinson (3) and Cameron Henley (2) set the team in a party mood despite a brace from James Humphrey in reply. Warminster Highbury won 4-1 at Corsham Boys.
Shane Godsell scored the home team's consolation goal.
