FIVE-A-SIDE FOOTBALL

OCEAN Black put in a magnificent performance this week, taking all nine points in their three matches to jump from fifth to second in the West Wilts League.

Goalkeeper Craig Curtis pulled off a magnificent save against Phil's Five and top striker Nick Stanley amassed seven goals during the afternoon.

Second from bottom Phil's Five beat top of the table Castle in a bad tempered match, with Sean Price of Phil's Five scoring a hat-trick against the best defence in the league.

Castle had their worst week to date, but managed three points against bottom of the league Red Five.

Red Five are starting to find form and collected another three points for the second week in a row. Red Five goalkeeper Andy Lawson pulled off some great saves and his performance proved paramount.

United Front started on Sunday second in the league but finished the day fifth, and failed to score any points. Player-manager Dennis Lafayette could find no explanation for their poor performance but captain Paul Marshal said failing to pass the ball was to blame.

Frome Rangers are starting to find consistency and won two matches but could only manage a draw against Roger Ingram's Untouchables. Steve Sykes believes Frome Rangers will be contenders for the title at the end of the season.

Westbury United's Steve Perkins produced another great performance for Direct Sports but could manage only one win, largely due to goalkeeping errors.
