FUTURE developments near the spot where three people were killed in an car accident will be carefully monitored until road improvements have been carried out.
An application to build a produce and machinery store on land off the A350 at Yarnbrook has been granted permission but road safety concerns may affect future proposals.
The site entrance is only 20 yards from the spot where five-year-old Tamara-Jayne Sheppard and two Melksham friends, Adam Lumley and Craig Dicker, died in a car crash on July 25.
West Ashton Parish Council said no more development should be allowed along the road until safety improvements have been completed.
The council said: "Owing to public concern and awareness on this stretch of road, the parish councillors would not wish to see any more development on this road until all possible road and safety improvements have been completed."
West Wiltshire District Council has allowed the store to go ahead but added a condition to prevent retail sales because of the safety fears.
The application would normally have been decided by district council officers under delegated powers but was considered by the council's central area committee because of the road safety concerns.
