CONIGRE Mothers' and Toddlers' Group in Trowbridge closed on Wednesday, due to a lack of support.
The group was established 23 years ago at the Conigre Chapel by the wife of the minister, Pam Sweet and the mother of the current organiser, Irene Wilton.
The group had more than 40 children and mothers and about 11 years ago it moved from the chapel to Seymour road.
The group continued to attract mums and their toddlers, and also raised money for children's charities.
One boy, David Webb, who attended the group, suffered from cerebral palsy.
Through its fundraising efforts the group raised about £15,000, and was able to pay for him to attend the Peto Institute in Hungary, to help him with his condition. David is now 17 and there is still a trust fund for him.
But due to the declining numbers Valerie Twiggs, the current organiser, has decided it is time to close.
The toys, books and games the Conigre group has will be sold in a garage sale on Wednesday November 8 from 10am until 1pm.
Mrs Twiggs said: "It's a real shame we have to close, but I think it's due to a lot of mothers working these days and sending their children to nurseries."
