IS THERE some deep and meaningful reason, which escapes the likes of lesser mortals like myself, why the road signs at present in use around Bradford on Avon have not been modified to reflect the frustration we all feel with the present traffic chaos?
Has it not occurred to those responsible for such things that we already have a road which bypasses the town and (cunningly) rates in the B category as B3105?
It is actually wider and straighter in parts than the A road listed through Bradford as the official route to Trowbridge. Surely with the present chaos caused by Transco and the inevitable delays of any future roadworks in the town, now might be a good time to create a suggested alternative route to Trowbridge which would involve turning left at the end of Winsley Road along Bath Road, then right along B3105 at Frankleigh. Suitable signs on the Bath side of this junction might ease our problems in town even more.
It is surely to the advantage of both motorists and pedestrians to ease the existing chaos but can we really blame any car driver or truck driver who has not encountered this road before for following official road signs?
