It was a very pleasing team performance last weekend against Munster.
Everyone played their part and that includes the supporters who gave the team the lift that was needed to fight to the end.
They say the spirit had gone and the players do not want it as badly as they did in the old days. Well, that is all twaddle!
The players today want it even more, as they want to emulate the great players and great teams that have gone before.
It is a difficult task because the teams are stronger, the competitions are greater and the level of intensity the players are expected to play is more demanding.
Also, the nature of the fixtures is now far more exhausting. Every game is a big game, irrespective of the competition that the game is played in.
The competitions we have are some of the finest in the world, but it would be nice if we can have a little breather in between.
In Wales, for example, they now have three weeks off from a competitive programme, which will allow those players a break to recover and regroup.
Hopefully, at the end they will be refreshed and able to give it their all, once again. Seems a sound idea to me.
The argument I encounter is that the paying public want regular rugby, week in and week out, irrespective who is playing.
This point I would agree with, but is it not sufficient to have international rugby to watch and follow. We as a club have to play matches while the internationals are on, so there is the added problem of competing for spectators.
Again, it does not solve the problem of players going from one big game to the next in the space of a week.
It's a tricky issue, and one I am sure that will be debated forever and a day.
However, we are here and we have to get on with it.
Tomorrow will see the visit of Gloucester to the Recreation Ground for a Tetley's Bitter Cup game.
Spicy or what? Two very good sides playing for a place in the next round, with a potential tie against Leicester going to the victors.
What is more important is that that tie is to be played at home, which is economically very lucrative.
That is what we are playing for, but I am not sure what the game is going to be like.
The torrential rain has forced the river by the ground to burst its banks and cover the field with two to three feet of water.
The problem now, is when the ground will be back up and running for expansive rugby? Huge manpower will go in to clearing the stadium and making it safe for spectators to come in.
The operation should only take a few days, so we need to be patient in order for it to be safe for everyone.
The problem I face now is if the game is postponed, when will we fit it in?
The wheels must keep turning and we have to endeavour to do our best for all concerned.
Enjoy your weekend and if you are coming to the Rec, give it all you got, as the players will get a real lift from the support.
For the players, patience and precision will be the points to concentrate on when the game is underway.
