MOTORIST Mark Wheeler was jailed for a month after he was caught driving while disqualified for a second time.
Magistrates heard that the 22-year-old was banned from the road for three years in February last year after being caught driving while disqualified and over the drink limit.
Kate Brown, prosecuting, said Wheeler was stopped on September 17 as he drove a silver Ford Escort along Whitworth Road. As well as discovering he was banned from the road and had no insurance police also noticed the car had an almost bald tyre.
Con Fernandes, defending, said his client had bought the car to do up and had been keeping it on the driveway at his girlfriend's sister's house.
But she had wanted him to move it and, not having anyone else to drive it at short notice, he drove it to garages near his Moredon home at Boscombe Road.
Mr Fernandes said his client, who admitted to the charges, suffered from a short attention span and drink problem.
