A VERY young Swindon I defeated an almost equally youthful GWR in Division One of the Swindon Indoor Cricket League by 18 runs. Shoaib Rahman scored 41 and Roger Willoughby a blistering 40 not out in a total of 108 for 5. Luke Leach led the reply with 31.
In the other match in this division, Wootton Bassett easily beat New Generation by 47 runs with Terry Davies again prominent with 27 not out and two stumpings.
Nalgo II are setting the pace in Division Two having beaten Shrivenham by 29 runs. Sandy Steele-Davis top scored with 37 in a score of 107 all out, a total which was always beyond Shrivenham despite Stewart Ross' 35.
In Division Three New Asians continue undefeated as they breezed past Supermarine II, this time winning by two wickets with an over to spare. Sohail was top man with 36 not out and three overs for just 15.
United Churches got off the mark as they defeated Wroughton II by 25 runs. Martin Trewhella top scored with 31 not out and although Stewart Smith replied with 33 this was never likely to be enough.
Nalgo III continue to make the running in Division Four having come out on top of Accord by 12 runs in a high scoring encounter. All the Nalgo batsmen contributed in a total of 140 for 2 and although Accord made a gallant effort they were hampered by six run outs.
