FIVE generations of the same Moredon family are living proof of girl power.
Shannon Zenda Cox is the latest addition to a remarkable family tree.
Proud mum Carole, 17, has showed off three-day old Shannon to great-great grandmother, great-grandmother and grandmother respectively.
"She will be spoiled rotten," said the proud new mum.
Seventy-seven-year-old Joyce Wilkins is the new great-great grandmother.
She is delighted with the latest family arrival.
"I think she does look like her mum. She is here now and she'll be looked after and loved."
Joyce is affectionately known as Commander Num-ber One by the rest of the women in the family.
Great grandmother, Zoe Young, 60, is also pleased the 'girls' have a new member to welcome.
"To be honest though, I don't feel any different being a great- grandmother to being a grandmother."
Victoria Glendenning, 36, who has just become a grandmother, said: "We are a close family and we stick together. We all help each other out."
Grandmother, mother and daughter are all living under the same roof and Victoria has already been pressed into nappy-changing duties.
"We are both having sleepless nights at the moment," she said.
Although the male family members are also delighted to welcome Shannon into the family, it is clear that the women are in control.
Victoria joked: "I feel sorry for Carole's partner, Jon. I think he finds all these women a bit daunting."
Shannon's middle name is a tribute to Zenda, a family member who died earlier this year.
Zenda's death prompted one of the most unusual funerals ever seen. When she is older, Shannon will hear the story of how members of her family stopped off at a petrol station on route to the crematorium, following Zenda's funeral service.
The reason for the fuel stop was because some members of the funeral party were desperate for a drink.
The station attendant was flabbergasted when the hearse also pulled in.
Victoria said: "The girl behind the counter said 'you're not going to bring the body in here are you'?"
"There have been some hard times for the family as well. I suppose it is a case of choosing to laugh rather than cry," said Victoria.
Although Shannon may not be aware of all the attention she is attracting from family members, her mother most certainly is.
"They won't stop coming around. It was total mayhem last night," she said.
