Andy King will be crowned as the new Swindon Town boss on Tuesday night.

Chairman Terry Brady has revealed exclusively to the Evening Advertiser that King will be given the chance to lead the club permanently.

He says there is no better man to take charge and says he will back him 100 per cent.

The duo will meet after Tuesday night's clash with Wrexham to sort out the finer points of the deal but Brady said last night that the job was there for King to take, if he wanted it.

"King will be the King of Swindon Town after Tuesday night if all goes well and if Andy accepts the job," said Brady. "The result against Wrexham, while we all want to win, does not matter in my decision to give Andy the job. The ball is now in his court. It is up to Andy King whether he wants it.

"I have spoken to him about it and told him that if he takes it on then he will get 100-per-cent backing from me. That includes money for new players if he feels that he needs it."

King has been in caretaker charge of the side since Colin Todd handed in his resignation almost two weeks ago.

Brady has been impressed with the team performances, including Saturday's dramatic 1-1 draw with Wycombe when Alan Reeves scored a late equaliser.

"We said that we would both give it three games to see if we could work together and I have to say that I have been delighted with the way he has approached things. He has been a breath of fresh air," said Brady. "I think Colin Todd's departure has been a blessing in disguise. Andy has got the job it is now down to him to say yes on Tuesday.

King said on Saturday that he would have to accept the job if offered it.

"We all know that decisions are not just made on football matters, it is not as easy as that," he said. "But, I have got to take the job if it is offered to me, I want it. It is sufferance for 90 minutes. I am not kidding you, but it is worth it, believe me."
