Chippenham Town manager Tommy Saunders hit out at Swindon Town for not giving local talent enough chance to develop into tomorrow's new stars.
His main example was that of former Town striker Charlie Griffin who was released by Town to Woking last week.
Griffin, 21, from Brinkworth, was bought by Swindon from Saunders' Chippenham Town nearly two years ago, but since then has only made a handful of league starts.
Saunders said: "Swindon have wasted Charlie's time and effort. He will have more opportunity at Woking, but he should be playing at a higher standard than in the Conference.
"Swindon never gave him a chance to show them what he can do both Jimmy Quinn and Colin Todd used him as back up for the reserves.
"Andy King is trying to say that Charlie wanted to move clubs, but I know that he would never have wanted to leave his local team.
"King wasn't even going to play him in the reserves."
Saunders also argued that there has not been any local talent in the team since the days of Town legend Nicky Summerbee.
"Sol Davis is the only local hero and he comes from Bath.
"Colin Todd tried to import a whole new team, and look at their league position now."
Saunders, the Chippenham Town manager, has an impressive CV. He recently won his fifth Screwfix Manager of the Month title in only two years, and has won numerous trophies for the club.
On Saturday his side took the first step to defending the Les Philips Cup when they beat Warminster Town 2-0.
Nick Tiley bagged a brace for Chippenham, in what was a steady team performance.
Next Saturday they start the game against Yate Town in the second round of the FA Carlsberg Vase as favourites, and are hoping to go one step better than last year and win the trophy.
Devizes Town were also in the awards for October, when they were named Screwfix Team Of The Month, largely due to their exploits in this season's FA Cup.
Brian Newlands' side reached the final qualifying round before being knocked out by FA Trophy holders Kingstonian. Newlands felt that the award also represented a wider reward of effort.
"Of course we enjoyed the cup run, but I also think we have done well in a very competitive league.
"It's also a big reward for our efforts in both league and cup competitions."
Elsewhere in the Screwfix League, many games were postponed due to more outrageous weather conditions.
Corsham Town did manage to play, but may have wished they hadn't after a 2-1 home defeat to Torrington.
On Tuesday, Warminster Town secured a 2-1 win at home to Larkhall Athletic, which saw them rise further away from the First Division's relegation zone.
