Do parents, schools and television teach morality? My parents certainly taught me that stealing and dishonesty were wrong, as did my junior headmaster.
I am saddened because on Halloween, after I had made the effort of buying chocolate and making a lantern for the trick or treaters, one of them stole the large rubber spider that I had hung outside the front door. "So what?'' you might say, it's only a rubber spider, but it's the principle. This child obviously hasn't grasped the fact that taking other people's property is wrong.
Forgive me if my logic is incorrect (or if I am ignoring other factors) but isn't it possible that this child, with his or her maldeveloped morality, is capable of more serious anti-social behaviour in the future, and hence making society a more miserable place for everyone else?
