Whenever I see the word elderly in the Evening Advertiser, I worry, because I am.
Whenever there is a cash crisis we always get the blame, now it seems we are going to cause a problem this winter at the Princess Margaret Hospital, because once again they are strapped for cash.
I am of course referring to the statements made by Ms Mills (chief executive of the Swindon and Malborough NHS Trust) in the Evening Advertiser.
Well, Ms Mills you had beds for the elderly who were ill, it was called Stratton St Margaret Hospital.
Against much opposition, the Swindon NHS Trust decided to close it, with comments from the trust of "we don't need it'', "alternatives are in place'' and "we will cope''.
Oh boy, have their chickens come home to roost!
So Ms Mills the next time you decide to make statements to the Evening Advertiser pick another whipping boy.
We did not close Stratton Hospital losing all those beds, your trust did.
By the way, what are you doing with all the money you are saving on Stratton St Margaret Hospital?
