POLICE are hoping to reunite stolen goods dumped in Chippenham with their owners.
PC Mark Kent, of Chippenham police station, thinks many of the items may be of sentimental value.
Among the collection of goods is a silver pocket watch, candle sticks, a Winston Churchill memorial coin, a brooch, strings of pearls and a silver tray.
Pc Kent said: "They were recovered in the Charter Road area where they were found dumped in sports bags by a member of the public.
"We believe they are from burglaries that were committed towards the end of last year but can't be sure if they are from the Chippenham area.
"However the fact they were found in the town makes it quite likely."
A large number of other items have already been returned to their owners because they were postcoded and PC Kent wants to encourage people to make sure their valuables are marked.
"The postcoded items were very quickly returned and the benefits for all are clear."
Special marker pens, which show up under UV light, are available from stationers and DIY shops and people are advised to mark on their postcode and the house number or first two letters of the house name in brackets.
If anyone recognises any of the items pictured they should contact PC Kent on (01249) 654455.
