The rights of grandparents who have to look after children will be the focus of a lecture being given at the University of Bath in Swindon.
Author and columnist Maureen Freely will be highlighting rising cases of geriatric parental stress and other issues involving grandparents' stress in the public lecture tomorrow night.
The lecture is part of the General University Lecture Programme organised by the university.
Ms Freely, who teaches creative writing at the University of Warwick, said: "If a grandparent is doing childcare for a working parent, who would otherwise have to pay out a lot of money, then there is a good case for the grandparent being paid, but that is not happening."
Members of the public are welcome to attend the free lecture which is being held at the Upper Room, 38/40 Regent Street at 5.30pm.
