GARETH HALL has been told by new boss Andy King that he could have a future at Swindon Town.

The defender, who was frozen out by former manager Colin Todd, played in yesterday's reserve match against Peterborough and has been in King's thoughts.

There is also good news for Gareth Davies who could be back in action next week as he finally returns after a knee injury.

King said: "I have told all the players that if they work hard and perform well then they have a chance of being in my plans.

"Anyone who plays well in the reserves, be it Gareth Hall or Jamie Mills, will get a chance in the first team.

"The only time good performances wont get you in the side is if I need a certain type of player to carry out a certain job.

"There was nothing much in yesterday's reserve match that showed me I had to make too many changes to the side, but Gary Alexander came through 70 minutes and I might need his extra strength up front against Wrexham.

"The best players on the park were Steve Cowe and Steve Mildenhall.

"Stevie Cowe could figure tonight and I was delighted that Mildy had a good game because we will need him when Bart is suspended."

He said it was great news that Davies was now back on the mend after so long out of the side.

"I have been here five months and I have not seen him play yet," he said. "To have him back would be like signing a new player. It is timely as well because Alan Reeves picked up his fifth booking and will soon be suspended."

The reserves beat Peterborough 2-0 with goals by Juan Cobian and Steve Cowe before the break.
