Reference Out in the Cold Evening Advertiser October 24.

I see that Richard Preddy suggests that I'm living in cloud cuckoo land because I happen to think that Labour will win the forthcoming election.

Well, perhaps I am, and its lovely. The only drawback being that it's so crowded up here, there are millions of us all waiting for election day.

First may I congratulate Richard on his election to the post of Chancellor of the Exchequer and giving us the news that pensioners are to get a meagre rise of £2.25 next April 1, when the other chancellor, Gordon Brown, doesn't even give his pre budget statement until tomorrow. Smart work Richard.

Mr Preddy bases his very unlikely theory of a Tory win not on policies you will notice but in a blip in the opinion polls during the recent fuel crisis, and is now rubbing his hands with glee, at the prospect of the pickets, inconveniencing everyone in the land.

I must say I don't think the public support will last long this time. Nice people realise that these hauliers and farmers are not there for the motorists' benefit, but only for their own.

I agree that the hauliers and the truckers have a case, but perhaps Richard could enlighten us as to what the farmers are doing there? Who is the farmers action group?

It it, as I suspect, a splinter group from that dubious fox hunting clan, the so-called Country Alliance or (the Tory party on horseback) as they are known.

Farmers get cheap red diesel, so what are they protesting about? I notice if you criticise them you get the same old story of them working around the clock to eke a living, yet they seem to have plenty of time to drive their tractors in rolling blockades, protest meetings and picket lines and the only two words they seem to know are are subsidy and compensation.

Come on Richard get rid of Bandwagon Willie and put alleged comedian Jim Davidson in charge. You'd stand more chance of winning.

Come up here to cuckoo land and join us, its great. I'm just off down the bookies, Labour are 1/3 on to win.

If you go on holiday next year don't go to Jerusalem. You won't be able to get near the Wailing Wall for Conservative supporters.
