Swiindon Town's chief executive Peter Rowe was so touched when Scott Higg's friends raised money to buy him a new bike after his old one was stolen that he invited them to see the team play.
Scott was presented with a Swindon Town bicycle helmet at last night's game against Wrexham, which he will now proudly display as he rides around Swindon on his new bike.
Mr Rowe said: "We saw the article in the Adver and we thought it was a tremendous gesture Scott's friends had made by raising the money to buy him a new bike.
"We decided we wanted to let them know what we thought of what they did. So we contacted the families and invited them to last night's game and presented Scott with a new helmet which he can wear when he is riding his new bike."
In early October, we told the story of how 16-year-old Scott, was presented with a new bike, which was bought after his friends Mike Ponting, Matt Perks and Mitch Proffitt had raised money to buy it with a sponsored walk.
The story began last Christmas when leukaemia sufferer Scott had his new bike, which was a Christmas present, stolen.
Scott was riding the bike in Swindon when two men pulled him off the bike and rode away with it.
After years of treatment to deal with his illness, it was the last way Scott wanted to celebrate the New Year.
But his friends stepped in and with a sponsored walk earlier this year the three of them raised more than £1,000 enough to buy Scott a brand new bike and donate a large sum to aid cancer research.
Scott, his three friends and their parents were all invited to watch last night's game and for the presentation.
The youngsters, who all attend Dorcan Technology College, were thrilled to bits to go to the game.
Scott's mum, Linda Higgs, said: "When I got the phone call, I was really surprised and thought someone was pulling my leg at first.
"But when I realised they were serious about doing it, I was just really pleased.
"It's great that Scott's friends are being recognised for what they have done. They really deserve it.
"The story might not have started off very happy when Scott's bike was stolen last year, but it's great that now there has been a happy ending."
