Terry Brady has asked new boss Andy King to write him two shopping lists of players he would like to buy.
The names will be split into the Harrods list, for the more expensive players and the Tesco list for those at the cheaper end of the scale.
Either way, Mr Brady insisted last night that he would do everything in his power to provide King with the cash required to improve the squad.
As revealed exclusively in Mon-day's Evening Advertiser, King was formally announced as Town boss following last night's clash with Wrexham.
Soon after the 2-2 draw King, Brady and new assistant boss Malcolm Crosby held a press conference to seal the deal.
It is clear King and Brady have already sparked a good relationship.
King said: "I am more than happy. This is an ambitious club, we are looking to go forward and I am very pleased to be at the helm.
"It is great to be in charge. Before, I had to go with what Colin Todd wanted, his system and his way of football. Now it is down to me and I am delighted. This is a tremendous honour."
While he has been pleased with the recent performances, which have earned him the job, he says there is still more work to be done.
"We need to look at reality. We are still looking at the wrong end of the table so we now have to get out of this position fast," he said. "I am very aware of where we are sitting and we need to get results. The players have been tremendous for me in recent weeks. Their reaction to me has got me the job. Now they have to keep on producing the goods."
King already has a list of 24 players who he would like to get, but they will be split into the two lists.
"I like the football side of things and I will let the chairman work on the transfers and the money. He has my list," said King. "We are not building a squad here, though. The players who we bring in now will not only take us into the next division but they will be better than what we already have.
"We have a strong enough squad but we now need better players to take us to the next stage."
Chairman Brady said he had no hesitation in supporting King.
"If you look at the players in the last four games there has been a definite improvement in their attitude towards everything and they have the belief in Andy King," he said. "I am delighted to have Andy in position and he has my full support. That includes money in the kitty to bring in new players.
"He has his shopping list. The Harrods one and the Tesco one. We have got to meet him somewhere in the middle.
"Money is available, but you have to realise that when we started the season we brought in nine new players and that put a lot of money on the wage bill for this season significantly more than last year.
"I would not say that we rushed out and bought the players, but we did not take our time. Andy has decided to take his time and pick the right players. When he has found them then we will go after them."
Mr Brady still believes that Town can taste success this season.
"The season is too early for anyone to make predictions but, with the way we have been playing, we could still do something this season. The fans deserve a lot more and under Andy King they will get it."
