SERVICES and parades will be held throughout the region to remember the dead of two world wars.

Devizes, mayor Tim Price will lead his guests, including MP Michael Ancram and Recorder of Devizes Judge John McNaught, from the town hall to St John's Church for a service of remembrance beginning at 10.50am on Sunday. The parade including members of the Royal British Legion, the Army Cadet Force, the Air Training Corps, Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies will form in the Market Place at 10.30am before marching to the church. After the service there will be a wreath laying ceremony at Long Street war memorial.

It will be followed by a march past when the salute will be taken by Major General Robin Grist, the regimental colonel of the Royal Gloucestershire Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment.

West Lavington, members of West Lavington Royal British Legion will parade in White Street at 10.30am on Sunday for the annual Remembrance Day service at 10.45am at All Saints Church. It will be followed by wreath laying at the war memorial outside.

Little Cheverell, a remembrance evensong, 6pm, parish church; Seend, remembrance service, 10.50am, Holy Cross Church; Great Cheverell, remembrance evensong, 6pm, St Peter's Church; Bulkington, the 9.30am service at Christ Church will be followed by a wreath laying ceremony.

Malmesbury, the town branch of the Royal British Legion is hosting a performance by the Wroughton Silver Band in aid of the Poppy Appeal in Malmesbury Abbey at 7.15pm tomorrow. On Sunday the RBL will hold a remembrance service at the Remembrance Gates in the Lower High Street at 10am.
