FITNESS fanatics can still take part in a unique sports challenge and raise money for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
There are still 17 places up for grabs for a skiing marathon at Blacklands, near Calne, is set to emulate a Swedish race, listed as the longest Nordic ski race in the Guinness Book of Records.
Members of the Blackland Leisure Health and Fitness Club will take to the club's cross trainers for the 24-hour marathon on Saturday.
Individuals will each ski for 30 minutes in a bid to raise money.
The bid is being backed by the Gazette, which is donating 1p from every copy of the paper sold today to the air ambulance fund.
Entrants pay £7.99 when they book at the centre and the money will go to the air ambulance.
Those entering the challenge will be able to get temporary membership for seven days. At the end they will get a 50 per cent discount on the centre's joining fee.
They also get a Gazette goodie bag, sponsored by Tesco, Devizes, Dillons, Market Place, Chippenham, and Dillons in Devizes.
There is also a chance to win a mountain bike, donated by BUPA, in a raffle at the centre. Tickets cost £1 for a strip of five. The raffle will be drawn when the event finishes at noon on Sunday.
Anyone wanting to join the challenge can call the centre on (01249) 813672.
