TWO years of work to produce a Millennium collage of the village of Bromham was finally finished.
The collage was produced by youngsters from St Nicholas' School, Bromham, and the local Women's Institute.
The collage, which is four metres long, was presented to the school last Friday and will be on display in the school hall.
The school's previous headteacher, Liz White, suggested the idea to the WI and the project got under way in September 1998.
New headteacher Tim Heath said: "The project grew enormously and the children are absolutely amazed with the final result."
About 100 children worked with four members of the WI.
The youngsters did initial drawings and with the WI members cut out individual elements. WI members stitched it together.
The collage has been made by using card and fabric offcuts such as felt and is on a strong hessian backing.
It features the school, the church, the Methodist chapel, the Spar shop, the social centre, farmland and a crop circle.
Roundway Hill is also featured with a Hercules aircraft from RAF Lyneham flying ove head.
WI member Liz Brown said: "The collage has come out very well. We didn't know what to expect at the beginning. We were adding things all the time and it was a lot of hard work."
