The new Wiltshire College has been launched merging three existing colleges in the county into one.
Chippenham College, Lackham College and Trowbridge College were relaunched to serve more than 30,000 students from around the area.
Wiltshire College will continue to operate from three separate campuses, but will be managed as one organisation.
Former head of Trowbridge College George Bright has been appointed as principal.
Chairman of the new governing body is Geoff Burgess the former chairman of Lackham College.
"The creation of Wiltshire College is a major landmark in the development of education and training for the people of Wiltshire," said Mr Bright.
"It starts from a strong base as all three colleges have achieved national recognition for aspects of their work.
"However, we recognise that there is much more to do to make our provision more accessible to people in the community and to improve further the quality of the facilities and experience we offer."
