DEVIZES' male majorettes, the Major Wrecks, will be appearing on national TV as part of BBC's Children In Need telethon on November 17.
Nick Glennister, a founder member of the Major Wrecks, said: "We got money last year from Children In Need to help with our swimming training and they wanted to come along and film the kids swimming.
"The producer then asked if we did any fundraising of our own."
On Sunday the Major Wrecks presented their Contact a Family charity with a £7,500 cheque.
It is £3,000 more than the amount they handed over last year, which was itself a record.
The majorettes put on shows at 56 venues as far apart as Portsmouth on the south coast and Nuneaton in the Midlands between May and October.
"We just go from strength to strength," said Mr Glennister, the chairman of Contact a Family, which supports the families of disabled children.
"But we prefer to do our local area because we can get in more performances in a day."
This year's programme was their most ambitious and lavish yet with several changes of costume and choreographer Liz Smith devising intricate and humorous routines.
