Poppadam and passandas were the order of the day at a charity meal in aid of National Curry Day.
Biplob Tandoori Restaurant in Wood Street, Old Town, gave the people of Swindon a taste of India on Tuesday night.
The special guests of the evening were Swindon Mayor Arthur Archer and his daughter Theresa Marriner.
The meal cost £34.95 for two people with all of the profits going towards the NSPCC and the Mother and Child Fund, which is a charity helping Third World mothers and babies.
Diners were welcomed to the decorated restaurant with traditional music from the Swindon Asian Indian Classical Musical Group, and English soft-rock group Hash Band.
The evening raised £1,571 for the charities.
The fundraising was helped by a £40 donation from the Magnum Wine Shop in Wood Street and £70 from a raffle.
The night, which has become an annual event, was organised to celebrate the fourth National Curry Day and included a special menu.
