Re Cllr Brian Mudge's letter (Wiltshire Times, November 3). Yes, I should have spoken earlier at a full council meeting. However, the statement I wanted to make was not embarrassing or out of order, merely a statement of fact.
Cllr Chivers knew about his loss of seat before any other members of the council were aware.
He chose not to return calls or answer correspondence from his former colleagues, but to rely on rumour and mistruths from other sources.
He has chosen to join a group that he has philosophically and every other way opposed, since he joined the council, some 12 years ago.
He has forgotten that it was an opposition win in Melksham that lost him his seat, and yet, he now supports this so-called alliance.
Cllr Chivers has lost his credibility. He is an opportunist, who needs security for his own personal use and has become a puppet on a string for his party.
I hope he finds it comfortable.
CLLR SOPHIE FARKAS,
Winsley Road,
Bradford-on-Avon.
