WORK starts next week on a children's nursery in Trowbridge that will cost almost £1m.
Building firm David McLean is due to move on site in Paxcroft Mead to start work on the purpose-built nursery which will have about 100 new places.
The nursery is being built for Just Learning, one of the UK's leading day nursery operators, and will cost more than £900,000.
The development, which is due to open in early March, will be the company's 21st nursery.
Just Learning managing director Michael Fallon said: "Our investment in the Trowbridge area will provide more choice and opportunity for parents of young children who want a nursery which delivers both care and education.
"Paxcroft Mead is a new development and we are keen to serve this young community by investing in the latest and the best provision for its children.
"The nursery will create around 25 new jobs and it represents a major investment in the future of this new community, which will benefit enormously from this sort of modern, stimulating nursery provision.
"We expect demand for the nursery to be high."
The nursery will take children aged from two months to five years, and the building has been designed with the areas separated into age ranges.
The nursery will be covered by security cameras and will have its own garden and play area.
