Yes, Hilperton Parish Council and Trowbridge Town Council are due to have a meeting regarding the Gap but Mr Gledhill (Wiltshire Times letters, November 3) tells only half the story.
The meeting, if it takes place, will be the first one between us; it will not be a further one as stated by Mr Gledhill. Additionally, there will be only a few representatives from each body there. It is not a meeting of the full councils.
Also, Mr Gledhill seems to imply that it is sinister that the public is not invited to the meeting. Could I ask why he feels they should be? When the parish council has met the district council in the past to discuss subjects such as the Hammond Way play area, Paxcroft Mead play areas, the new Paxcroft Community Centre etc, the meetings were held in private and then reported back to the full parish council at the next regular meeting (all of which are open to the public).
The same procedure will be adopted this time. Our next meeting is on Tuesday November 21 at Hilperton Village Hall in Whaddon Lane, commencing at 7.30pm.
E CLARK,
Chairman,
Hilperton Parish Council.
