YOUTH team hero Alan Young has been given a further boost after being included in the Town squad to face Peterborough this weekend.
The 17-year-old midfielder fired four goals in Wednesday's 4-1 FA Youth Cup win over Woking to set up a third round clash at Bolton.
And the watching Andy King was quick to add him to the squad.
"Alan Young is still a baby and he needs time to progress," said King. "He is not the finished article by any means but I was so impressed with his attitude on Wednesday that I just had to include him in the first team squad.
"If a young player gets a chance in the first team and then goes back to the youths and starts to wonder why he is playing at a lower level then he will not get another chance.
"But Youngy had the perfect attitude on Wednesday. He has played in the first team but he still gave it everything when he played for the youth team. It gives the other young players a target."
King said he had no problems about giving Young or any other player their chance.
"Youngy has already had a taste of first team football and he has not let anyone down," he said.
"He has talent, you do not score four goals like the ones he got against Woking otherwise. But it is his attitude which earned his place."
