DETAILS of where 3,000 new homes will be built in west Wiltshire over the next 10 years have been announced.
The bulk will be built in Trowbridge which will take 1,531, while 790 will go to Melksham, 487 to Westbury, 280 to Warminster, and 95 to Bradford on Avon.
The figures are included in the latest changes to the proposed district plan which is available for public comment for the next six weeks.
Village policy limits have been changed for Bulkington, Southwick and West Ashton to allow limited infill schemes of one or two new homes.
Copies of the plan will be available until December 21 in all public libraries, town council offices, and at West Wiltshire District Council's offices in Bradley Road, Trowbridge.
The plan also identifies several areas as open spaces which will be protected after it was revealed that the district was short of both formal sports land and children's play areas.
The revised plan incorporates changes called for following the last period of public consultation in October 1998.
Council leader Angie Barker said: "The revisions we have made were prompted by public consultation, and we are again asking people for their views. A comments form will be provided with the plan to help us process the responses."
Comments can only be made on the changes. Alternative site proposals or objections cannot be accepted.
